Welcome to Hazel Tree Counselling
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like you're constantly putting others first? Perhaps you're juggling the care of both your children and your parents, leaving little time for yourself. Or maybe you're simply not happy with the way things are but unsure how to make a change. I understand, and I'm here to help.
I'm Donna Kilday, an integrative counsellor based in Southend-on-Sea. As a registered member of the BACP and the NCPS, I'm committed to maintaining the highest professional standards. I'm also proud to be an RNIB accredited sight loss counsellor, allowing me to offer specialised support to those experiencing vision-related challenges.
I provide both in-person and online counselling for adults who are ready to prioritise their well-being. Whether you're grappling with grief, feeling out of place, recovering from bullying, or dealing with trauma, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings and discover a path forward.
My practice is based in Southend-on-Sea, which is easily accessible from Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff-on-Sea, Rochford, Rayleigh, Benfleet, and the surrounding areas. The counselling room is quiet and welcoming, ensuring your privacy and comfort during our sessions.
Counselling is a collaborative process where we work together to understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It's a chance for you to speak openly about your concerns without fear of judgment. In our sessions, you'll have the opportunity to explore your experiences, gain new perspectives, and develop coping strategies tailored to your unique situation.
In our sessions, you take the lead. I'm here to listen without judgment, offering a safe and confidential space where you can explore whatever is on your mind. My role is to support you, ask questions that help you gain insights, and offer different perspectives when helpful. The strength of our relationship is key – I'll be your ally, helping you navigate your thoughts and feelings. Each session is yours to use as you need, whether that's processing past experiences, tackling current challenges, or planning for the future. We'll work at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you.
Counselling can provide relief from emotional distress, improve your relationships, and help you develop a stronger sense of self. Many of my clients report feeling more confident, better able to set boundaries, and more equipped to handle life's challenges. Through our work together, you may gain clarity about your goals, learn to manage stress more effectively and discover new ways to care for yourself while balancing your responsibilities to others.
If you're considering counselling, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and see if we're a good fit. There's no obligation, and it's a great way to get a sense of how I work. Don't wait to start your journey towards a more fulfilling life – reach out today and let's talk about how I can support you.
I believe in being transparent about the practical aspects of counselling. Here's a clear breakdown of my session structure and fees.
Initial Consultation: 15 minutes – Telephone or Online - Free of charge
Regular Sessions: 50 minutes – Online or in person - £50 per session
Payment
Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept bank transfers and can provide details upon booking.
If you have any questions about fees or sessions, please don't hesitate to ask during our initial consultation or at any point in our work together. I'm here to make the process as clear and comfortable as possible for you.
I understand that life can be unpredictable, but I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows me to offer the time to another client who may be waiting.
